School Show
School Show: We wanted to give you advance warning that our learners will be performing their school show to parents on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st September from 6pm - 9pm. We understand that this will cause added congestion with parking in the surrounding streets and thank you in advance for your patience
Votes = fundraising! Stonefields School Hall will be your convenient polling station for the upcoming elections on 23rd September. The parenting association known as FOSS (Friends of Stonefields School) will be holding a fundraising stand selling cakes and a sausage sizzle. Please support the school, whilst placing your vote!
The impact of Stonefields School:
The school is well placed to continue to have an impact that goes way beyond the local area. We attract an increasing number of visitors from New Zealand and overseas, who are keen to understand what a future-focused learning and teaching culture, approach and environment might look like. The feedback we gather from these visits show that the school is highly regarded in the global educational community. We believe that the school’s reputation locally and internationally along with a vibrant community have helped increase house prices and desirability of the development. Should you like a virtual tour of the school please visit The Stonefields Collaborative by clicking here or go to the Visitors (non parent) section of our website www.stonefields.school.nz.
ZONING:
Zoning: Often we are asked if we will enrol children who live outside of our school zone. The answer to this is no. We are zoned and bound by the Ministry of Education rules in this regard, but there is an “however”! Learners enrolled must live within our zone for a full 12 months of schooling to be eligible to remain at the school if their families then move out of the zone. Each year, however, the Board of Trustees considers if the school is in a position to accept new entrant age siblings of currently enrolled children who have moved out of zone but have fulfilled the 12 month criteria. Where possible we do not wish to see families split between two or more schools. In these circumstances a ballot can be opened up in order to enrol the siblings. Rules of the ballot allow anyone to apply, but as siblings receive a higher priority the placements are offered to the siblings only and everyone else is placed on a waitlist. Enrolment would only be offered to number one on the waitlist if a sibling turns down the position as per the rules of balloting within New Zealand education.
