Timed No Parking Around the School

Auckland Transport have finalised their proposal to put timed No Stopping lines along Vialou Lane and Guyon Street.

By October 2017, cars will not be allowed to park or stop on the non-school side of Vialou Lane and Guyon St, Mon-Fri 8:15-9:15am and 2:30-3:30pm.

A number of submissions were made with ideas to ease the traffic congestion around the School pick up and drop off time. One particular common suggestion was to impliment a one-way system around the school. However, part time one way systems do not exist and could lead to an increase in traffic speeds around the school. Therefore, the time restricted, No Parking concept was designed to discourage drivers to travel along these roads in a direction that would not allow them to park, essentially creating a one way system, but without causing increased speeds as there could still be the chance of cars travelling in the opposite direction.

Additionally, by stopping cars from parking on one side of the road, the often seen log jams of cars be reduced.
